HT Tennessee Highway Patrol
On Wednesday morning, I got pulled over by a Tennessee State Trooper. He asked, “Why aren’t the two boys in the back seat in car seats?” I explained that they were my foster sons, and I had just gotten them the night before. They came with only the clothes they were wearing, no car seats, no toys, or coats. I showed him the paperwork and explained the situation. He was really kind to both me and the boys. He even asked for my phone number, and I gave it to him.
Later that day, his wife called me to ask about the boys. This morning, Officer Tidwell and his wife met me in Waverly. They had bought gifts for the boys, not just the two in the back seat, but also their older brother.
I can’t thank them enough for their kindness. I never asked them for anything. They just did it because they wanted to. They showed the boys that there are kind cops out there, and I hope this has left a positive impression on them about police officers. The boys have been telling everyone, “Cops are nice.” This really made their day. With all the negative news we hear, it’s nice to share some good news for a change.
